Quickly search and add medications by entering a few letters, accessing thousands of options to maintain an accurate MAR.

FAQ: How do I enter a new medication?

  1. Prepare to Add a Medication

    • Gather the med list and any medications you need to enter.
    • Ensure you are in the eMAR section in Synkwise.
  2. Locate the Medication

    • On the left side of the screen, go to the resident's profile where the medication will be added.
    • Begin typing the first three letters of the drug name to see available options.
    • Medications marked with a green cloud are custom entries, while those with a pink pill icon are from the database.
  3. Select and Input Details

    • Choose the medication, and select its strength from the list. If not available, you can create a custom medication by entering the required details.
    • Set the start date, which can be backdated if needed.
  4. Add Specific Instructions

    • Add an end date if the medication is time-limited.
    • Specify the prescription source, frequency, and dosage.
    • Define administration details, such as time of day and dosage quantity.
  5. Configure Alerts and Track Inventory

    • Set reminders to notify you when supplies are low (e.g., when inventory reaches 5 tablets).
    • Add a description or imprint details if needed for better identification.
  6. Finalizing the Medication Entry

    • Review all inputs and save the medication.
    • Administer the medication as per the set schedule, logging additional data like blood pressure or heart rate if required.
  7. Edit or Remove Medications

    • If needed, edit or discontinue the medication directly from the eMAR section.
