Attach a Physician Order to a Medication

View an order or a delegation task sheet under the Med Pass on each Medication

FAQ: I want my staff to see the doctor's order or the delegation task sheet for an insulin order, how can I attach that to an active medication?

  1. Navigate to MedPass

    • Go to the MedPass section of the eMAR.
    • You will notice that there are no emblems next to the medications.
  2. Add Physician Orders

    • Click on the "Add Order" button at the top.
    • You will have two options: "Browse Files" (for files on your computer) and "Browse Documents" (for documents that can be edited). Choose "Browse Documents" for this example.
  3. Upload Doctor Orders

    • Select the doctor’s order from the list.
    • Attach the order to "Active Medications" or "Discontinue Orders" as needed, then click "Next."
  4. View the Paperclip Icon

    • After uploading the order, a paperclip icon will appear in the MedPass section.
    • Staff can click on the paperclip to view the attached PDF with the physician order.
  5. Attach Delegation Task Sheets

    • To add a delegation task sheet, click "Add Order" again and select "Browse Documents."
    • Choose the relevant delegation task sheet (e.g., Insulin Task Sheet), and upload it.
  6. Access Task Sheets from MedPass

    • Go back to the MedPass section and click the paperclip icon next to the relevant order (e.g., Insulin).
    • The staff can view the task sheet, which includes detailed instructions for administering medications.
  7. Other Upload Options

    • You can also upload physician orders and task sheets from forms created in the form builder or directly from a nurse’s signed delegation sheet.
