Send a Fax cover sheet or a medication list via Email to a family member
FAQ: I need to send a medication list to the doctor via fax and an email to the family to give them a copy, how do I do that?
-
Access the Resident Profile
- Navigate to the resident profile in the platform.
- Look for the "Print" and "Send-By" buttons, which are visible in both the profile and progress notes sections.
- If the "Send-By" button is not visible, printing may not be available for that page.
-
Click the Send-By Button
- When you click "Send-By," you will see two options: email or fax.
- The "Send-To" dropdown is connected to the contact list, so ensure your contacts are up-to-date.
-
- Select a contact from the dropdown, and their email will be automatically populated.
- Optionally, you can add a mobile phone number for secure email access with a verification code.
- If left blank, the recipient will still receive the email.
-
Send via Fax
- Select the contact (e.g., doctor or pharmacy) with an updated fax number.
- Choose to send the fax cover sheet along with the printout or only the cover sheet.
- Verify that the recipient's fax information is complete and accurate.
-
Include Relevant Information
- Start from the resident profile to ensure all necessary details (e.g., resident name) are included.
- Add comments to explain the purpose of the message.
- Once the message is ready, click "Send."
-
Monitor Fax and Email History
- Check the "Reports" section to view fax or email history.
- For faxes, you can see the status (e.g., delivered or failed).
- Common fax failures include "Receiver dropped the call prematurely." You can manually resend the fax, preview it, or download the PDF.
-
Troubleshoot Issues
- If failures occur beyond common errors (e.g., incorrect destination number), report the issue by clicking the "Help" button in the bottom-right corner of the platform.
