Translate Text Using Google Chrome

Use the translation tool in Google Chrome to quickly switch between English and your desired language

FAQ: We have a few staff members writing in a different language. Can we translate that text into English and back?

  1. Open Google Chrome & Access the Toolbar Settings

    • Right-click on the Chrome toolbar.
    • Select "Customize Toolbar" from the options.
  2. Enable the Translation Tool

    • Google Chrome has a built-in translation feature.
    • Make sure the translation tool is enabled under "Tools and Actions."
  3. Translate a Web Page

    • When visiting a page in another language, the translation icon will appear in the toolbar.
    • Click the icon to translate the page.
    • The tool will detect the language automatically and suggest translating it to English.
  4. Translate Specific Text & Create a Note

    • Right-click on the text you want to translate.
    • Select "Create a new note" to save the translated text.
    • Copy and paste the translated text into the note for reference.
  5. Translate to a Different Language

    • Click on the translation icon and select a different language from the dropdown menu.
    • The page will be translated into the selected language.
    • This feature can be helpful for caregivers or users who need quick translations.
  6. Switch Back to English

    • Click the translation icon again and select English.
    • You can also choose "Detect Language" to revert to the original text.
